Fan convectors are a type of heating system that works by forced convection. Hot water from the boiler is transported to the fan convector’s heat exchanger. Cool air from the room passes over the heat exchanger, increasing its temperature, followed by it being circulated around the room. Fan convectors can provide almost instant heat and so are a good option for rooms not used that often. They also don’t have a hot surface area so does not have risk of injury in the form of burns.
