PRESS RELEASE
CROSSLING CARLISLE BRANCH MOVES TO NEW PREMISES

Crossling Ltd., the North of England’s largest independent Plumbers & Engineers merchant, have relocated their Carlisle Branch to new larger premises on Kingstown Broadway, Kingstown Industrial Estate, Carlisle. The move will be complete from June 20th.

After several years of substantial sales growth in the Carlisle branch area, Crossling had been searching for extra warehouse space to ease congestion and space limitations at the Rosehill Estate site. The site had
become too small for the 24 staff and the substantial sales into the Cumbria and Dumfries areas. The decision was made to purchase a building at Kingstown Industrial Estate to effectively increase Carlisle branch's trading space, with more warehousing, offices, yard and parking space than the former premises, to provide the support needed for continued future sales growth.

The building at Kingstown Broadway was built in 1960 by the Danish Bacon Company, who extended the warehousing up to 24,000 sq ft before selling it in 1999 to Carlisle Brass, an architectural Ironmongery Wholesaler.

Crossling's Branch on Mongomery Way, Rosehill Industrial Estate, Carlisle opened for business in November 1978 with 12 staff. The first Branch Manager was Jack White with Brian Harrison as his deputy and Stuart Goad as Inside Sales with Alan Sutcliffe as Sales Representative. 27 years later Stuart Goad is the current Branch Manager and Alan Sutcliffe is still with the company as a representative. An extension was added to the Rosehill site in 1990 to increase the branch size from 8000 sq ft to 13,000 sq ft with the addition of more yard storage.

Local Construction company Alan Irving Construction were responsible for building alterations to the new premises which has included new offices for inside sales and administration, a sales counter and showroom for trade collect customers, warehouse racking, shelving and cranage for handling Crossling's diverse range of products.
